Thoughts From Your Heart: The Anniversary Card

Every year you will be faced with the task of writing a few special words for you significant other. Don't fret, just take a moment to jot down a few notes as to some heartfelt things that you want to say to him or her. Perhaps you want to discuss something special that they did for you in the past year. Perhaps you want to discuss a new level that you reached in your relationship. Whatever it is, you will want to write a short, heartfelt card that will make the person you love feel good. Here are some tips that will guide you along the way:

1) Be brief. If you want to write a nice, romantic love letter that is ok but for our purposes we are focusing on writing an anniversary card and those need to be short.

2) Be romantic. Open up to the other person. Write some sweet things. Be as cheesy as you want, this if for their eyes only.

3) Buy a nice card. Words are great and the focus of an anniversary card will be what you write in it, but come on, this is only once a year, spring for a nice, fancy, attractive card.

4) Be creative. Don't just tell the person how much you love and cherish them, get creative. Poetry is one of the most common things found in cards like this. Even if you don't know how to write a poem, you can simply write down a famous, romantic poem.

5) Be personal. This is an intimate thing between the two of you, don't try to be funny or get embarassed, put in some personal stuff about you and the other person.

6) Don't forget! Seriously. Never forget the anniversary. If you do, it is going to take a lot more than a card to make up for it.
